Job Description
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times when handing sensitive information.
  • Administer or proctor appropriate needs assessments with customers to identify basic literacy and numeracy skills, occupational skills, prior work experience, interests, aptitudes, supportive service needs and developmental needs
  • Conduct outreach and recruitment of youth customers.
  • Develop and maintain contacts with community organizations and educational institutions for the purpose of outreach, recruitment, and positive public relations.
  • Identify each customer's barriers to and services to address them.
  • Facilitate a variety of employment and skill development services for customers addressing their needs in the areas of education, employment, and supportive services.
  • Develop Career Pathway Plans with customers to establish appropriate career goals and specific plans for skills development activities and job search strategies.
  • Update and modify Individual Service Strategies quarterly to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Ensure youth or young adult customer is aware of the 14 WIOA program elements.
  • Develop activities available to customers to enhance their skills, including basic skills development, customer service, computer skills, and job search skills.
  • Maintain files within the computer databases and State System ensuring proper documentation is available to support program eligibility and services received.
  • Maintain knowledge of and communication with other community agencies, programs and training offered. Appropriately refer individuals to community and partner agencies.
  • Work with participants to continuously engage them through their attainment of employment goal, placement, and post exit follow-up for retention.
  • Assist with special projects such as specialized outreach programs to targeted groups and development of new skills training activities.
  • Maintain monthly contact with active youth participants up until exit from program services.
  • Complete quarterly follow ups for one-year post exit.
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Submit required reports in a timely manner.
  • Contribute in team member role(s) to ensure that the Workforce Development Board performance standards are met and/or exceeded, and compliance with Federal, State, and Workforce Center rules and regulations.
  • Support other staff as needed.
  • Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications

* Excellent Counseling Skills.
* Excellent Listening and Communication skills.
* Excellent organizational and planning skills.
* Excellent data entry skills.
* 2 years related experience.
* Bachelors degree in related or similar field.
